Before you book

Who is this actually for?

Groups of up to seven who want the boat to themselves rather than a seat on somebody else’s. Couples, families, friends travelling together, and people who have done a ticketed excursion once and did not enjoy being on a timetable. The day is built around swimming, stopping where you like the look of it and going ashore only if you feel like it. If what you want is a fast transfer, a party boat or a fixed sightseeing itinerary, we are honestly not the right fit.

How many of us can come, and does the price change with numbers?

Up to seven guests, plus your skipper. The price is the total for the boat, not a per-person fare — two of you pay the same as seven of you for the same cruise. Larger numbers simply mean less room and more turns with the shade. We run one group at a time, so you are never sharing the boat with strangers.

Can we bring children?

Yes, and there is no minimum age. There are child life jackets for every age, and each child gets one that fits. For children aged two to six, consider a four- or six-hour cruise with frequent stops. Eight hours is possible, but only with time ashore built in — a walk, lunch at a taverna — rather than eight hours straight on the boat. Parents remain responsible for their children during the trip. When you enquire, tell us how many children are coming and their ages.

What about older guests, or someone with limited mobility?

Tell us before you book. Boarding at the marina is a step from the pontoon with a hand from your skipper rather than a climb, and your skipper is there to help you back aboard after a swim. Both are manageable for most people, but “most people” is not a useful answer about a specific person. Describe the situation when you enquire — including anyone who is not a confident swimmer — and we will tell you honestly whether it works, and which cruise length suits.

What if someone in our group gets seasick?

Say so when you enquire, because it changes which cruise we suggest rather than whether you can come. The northeast coast stays close to shore for most of the day, in sheltered water; Paxos, Sivota and the Diapontia islands each involve an open crossing, and the Diapontia route spends a good part of the day in open water. The boat is a deep-V Technohull, which its specification describes as giving stability and a smooth ride in chop — but no hull removes a swell, and we would rather move you to a sheltered route than talk you into a crossing. Your skipper can also shorten or change the route while you are out, and if the conditions on the day are unsuitable the cruise is rescheduled or fully refunded.

What should we bring?

Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. Soft bags rather than hard suitcases, which are awkward to get aboard and to stow. A light layer for the ride back is worth having even in August. Everything else — drinks, fruit, snacks, snorkelling gear, the paddleboard, the sea scooter, shade, a freshwater shower and a WC — is already on the boat.

Do we need any boating experience or a licence?

None. Your skipper is aboard for the whole cruise and handles the boat, the anchoring and the navigation. You do not drive, you do not need a licence, and nobody expects you to have an opinion about the wind. Your skipper speaks English, German and Greek. Christos Batralis has over 5,000 hours at the wheel.

On the day

Where exactly do we meet you?

On the pontoon at Marina Gouvia, on Corfu’s east coast, a short drive north of Corfu Town. You are sent the exact berth when your cruise is confirmed. You finish the day back at the same place, which makes taxis and pickups straightforward to arrange in advance.

Is there parking at the marina?

Yes, there is parking at Marina Gouvia. If you are coming by taxi instead, most northeast Corfu hotels are a short taxi ride away. Transfers to and from the marina are not included in the price, but we are happy to help you arrange one if you ask before the day.

What time do we start, and how long is the day?

Cruises run at two, four, six or eight hours depending on which one you book, and the start time is agreed with you when you book rather than fixed by a timetable. Morning departures are the norm for full days. We do not publish guaranteed timings for individual legs of a route, because the sea state and your own choices during the day decide them.

What is aboard for the day?

A forward sunpad in the sun, rear seating beneath the central canopy in the shade, an onboard WC, a freshwater shower, a refrigerator, music and Wi-Fi. The refrigerator holds the water, soft drinks, wine, fruit and snacks, all of which are included.

Is food included, and can we eat ashore?

Water, soft drinks, wine, fruit and snacks are aboard and included. A restaurant meal ashore is not included — on the longer cruises there is usually time to tie up at a harbour such as Kassiopi, Gaios or Sivota, and you choose and pay for lunch yourself. The six-hour northeast cruise includes Kassiopi; choose eight hours if you also want a meal ashore, as six hours does not allow for both. If you have dietary requirements or want something particular aboard, raise it before you book and we will tell you what is possible.

Can we decide the route on the day?

Largely, yes, and we would rather you did. The places listed on each cruise page are what that stretch of coast is known for; which of them you visit and in what order is agreed with you and adjusted for the wind and the sea as it actually is. That is also why we do not guarantee a specific stop in advance — conditions decide what is comfortable, and your skipper will tell you straight if something is not worth doing that day.

In the water

How much swimming is there?

As much as you want within the length of cruise you have booked. Swimming stops are the point of the day rather than an interlude in it — you anchor somewhere you like the look of and stay until you have had enough. We will not put a number of minutes or a number of stops on it, because that depends on the route, the weather and what your group feels like doing.

Is snorkelling equipment provided?

Yes. Snorkelling gear is carried aboard as standard and included in the price. The northeast bays in particular shelve steeply and stay clear close to shore, so you often do not need to go far from the boat to see something worth seeing.

What are the paddleboard and the sea scooter, and are they extra?

Both are aboard and included — no hire charge, no add-on. The stand-up paddleboard comes off the stern and is a good way to potter around a bay at your own speed. The sea scooter is a handheld electric unit that pulls you along underwater, and it is usually the thing teenagers and adults alike want a second go on. Both are used with your skipper’s guidance, and whether they suit a particular child is something to confirm with us when you enquire rather than assume.

What if someone cannot swim, or is nervous in the water?

That is fine, but tell us in advance. Nobody has to get in, and a non-swimmer can spend the whole day aboard perfectly happily. Anyone who cannot swim does not go into the sea without a life jacket and supervision.

Are there life jackets, including child sizes?

Yes. There are life jackets for adults and child life jackets for every age, and each child gets one that fits. Tell us how many children are coming and their ages when you enquire.

How do we get back on the boat after a swim?

Your skipper is there to help you back aboard. If getting back aboard would be harder for anyone in your group, tell us when you enquire and we will talk it through properly. The exact arrangement is confirmed when you enquire — and if it matters for someone specific in your group, that is exactly the sort of thing to ask about first.

Money, weather and changes

What does the price actually cover?

Your skipper, fuel and all taxes. Water, soft drinks, wine, fruit and snacks. Snorkelling equipment, the stand-up paddleboard and the sea scooter. The onboard WC, the freshwater shower, the refrigerator, shade beneath the canopy, music and Wi-Fi. There are no hidden fees on top of the figure you are quoted.

And what is not included?

Restaurant meals ashore, transfers to and from the marina, and any special arrangements — anything out of the ordinary you would like organised for the day. Special arrangements are agreed separately with you before you book, so you know the cost in advance rather than on the pontoon.

Is the price per person or for the whole boat?

For the whole boat. Every figure on this site is the total for your group of up to seven guests, and it does not climb per head. A couple pays the same as a group of seven for the same cruise. That is the fundamental difference between a private boat and a ticketed excursion.

How do we book, and when do we pay?

Send an enquiry or message us with your dates, how many of you there are and the ages of everyone coming. We reply with availability, a suggested route and the total for your group. No payment is taken at the enquiry step — you are asking a question, not committing to anything. Payment arrangements are set out to you before you confirm.

What if we need to cancel?

Free cancellation up to five days before your cruise. The deposit, no-show and weather terms are set out in full in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, and we confirm the policy that applies to your booking in writing when you book.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If conditions are unsuitable, your cruise is rescheduled or fully refunded. That decision is made on seamanship rather than optimism — we would rather move your day than give you a poor one. We do not guarantee weather, sea state or that any particular stop will be reachable on a given day.

When will you reply to my enquiry?

We reply the same day during 09:00–21:00; enquiries received after hours are answered the next day. Your captain answers WhatsApp and may be at sea when you write. Leave a number and the skipper will call, with the time confirmed to you.
